Paul Detering
Chief Executive Officer
Paul Detering is a veteran leader of early stage technology companies with more than 20 years of experience in the clean technology, telecom and software industries. Previously, Detering led Larian Communications, which produced a next-generation voice messaging system. Detering was also Chief Executive of Blueleaf Networks, an early stage optical networking and components company; Wildfire Communications, which he successfully sold to Orange Plc; and IQ Labs. Detering began his career at Nortel Networks and has worked at Raychem, Raynet Systems, and McKinsey and Company. He received a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics from the Royal Military College of Canada and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, where he graduated with high distinction as a Baker Scholar.
Greg Saunders
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Greg Saunders is a 25-year financial veteran with extensive experience raising debt and equity capital. His proven track record as CFO includes successful leadership at three publicly traded companies and two private firms in the real estate and structured finance industries. Before coming to Tioga, he served as CFO at Codding Investments, a green business investment firm and developer of Sonoma Mountain Village, California’s largest deeply sustainable, solar-powered, mixed-use community. Saunders also served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Bridger Commercial Funding, a leading lender that closed over $5 billion in structured finance transactions. Prior to Bridger, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of National Information Group, a publicly-traded, online real estate information services company until it was sold to First American Financial (NYSE: FAF). He was also Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Transcisco Industries, Inc., a publicly-traded international leasing and financial services corporation that was acquired by Trinity Industries, Inc. (NYSE: TRN). A member of Financial Executives International, Saunders holds an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics and Business from Macalester College
Randall B. Corey
Vice President, Operations
Randall (Randy) Corey is a solar industry and engineering management veteran who has overseen the installation of more than 30MW of PV systems. Possessing more than 25 years of experience in construction, electrical, engineering, project management, manufacturing and supply chain management, Corey is responsible for Tioga Energy operations in these areas. Corey came to Tioga from Solar Integrated where he served two years as Vice President, Construction Operations and Supply Chain Management. Previously, Corey was Director of Manufacturing Operations and Procurement for FTI International, a manufacturer of alternative fuel compressors and dispensers. Corey also served as Director of Manufacturing Operations and Procurement for Stuart Energy Systems Corporation, an alternative energy company. Working for Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in the design, manufacture and support of aircraft engines, he held various engineering and supply chain management positions. Corey’s career also includes a broad variety of construction and electrical project management, estimating, bid preparation, superintendent and supply chain management positions.
Peter Nixon
Vice President, Business Development and Finance
Peter Nixon possesses a diverse skill set and a list of industry achievements, including more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur in the telecom and renewable energy spaces. Nixon previously developed and sold a major Greenfield wind project to a $20 billion energy provider. He was also General Manager of MFN (now AboveNet) Canada, where he sold the company’s assets to Telus, a major Canadian telecommunications company. He also acted as Chief Operating Officer of Cabletel, the largest Canadian supplier of broadband telecommunications equipment. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the INSEAD School of Business, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics from the Royal Military College of Canada.
Marc Roper
Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Marc Roper is a 20-year veteran of the renewable energy industry. Before coming to Tioga Energy, he led sales, marketing and external affairs for Turner Renewable Energy. Previously, Roper served as a board member and VP of Sales and Marketing for SCHOTT Solar, managing the company’s sales, marketing and project operations across the Americas. He has managed residential market development for AstroPower and headed renewable energy programs for the State of Colorado’s energy office. Among his industry affiliations, Roper is a board member of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) and has served on the boards of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) among others. Roper attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where he received a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics, and a Bachelor of Art in Music.
