Oceanic Time Warner Cable’s Mililani Tech Park facility in Hawaii has a new 856kW solar parking canopy thanks to its partnership with Chevron Energy Solutions and Tioga energy. The solar PV system will presumably help Oceanic Time Warner Cable meet LEED Gold certification for the Mililani Tech Park building.
Chevron Energy Solutions oversaw the design, engineering and construction of the installation, which included solar PV panels on two buildings and parking canopies. Tioga Energy delivered the financing services for the project and maintains ownership and operation responsibilities for the installation. Tioga and Oceanic Time Warner Cable have agreed to a 20-year PPA where Tioga will sell the generated electricity to the cable company at predictable rates that are below local utility rates.
“We are proud of our collaboration with Chevron Energy Solutions and Tioga Energy to help us incorporate sustainability in our business,” said Norman Santos, vice president of operations for Oceanic Time Warner Cable. “This project helps to provide budget predictability for our energy costs and the opportunity to use renewable power.”
