SAN FRANCISCO – October 11, 2011 – The City of Dinuba, Calif., has teamed with Tioga Energy and Chevron Energy Solutions to develop a 1.15 MW solar electric system that will reduce energy costs for operations at the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
Comprising 4,704 photovoltaic modules, the ground-mounted system will sit atop a capped landfill near Dinuba’s wastewater treatment facility, which is the city’s largest energy-using facility. Tioga Energy, a leading provider of renewable energy services to commercial, government and non-profit institutions, will finance, manage and own the project through its SurePath™ Solar power purchase agreement (PPA), selling the generated electricity back to the city at predictable rates over a period of 20 years. Chevron Energy Solutions is providing design, engineering and construction services for the installation.

This project marks the second collaboration between Tioga Energy and Chevron Energy Solutions. Earlier this year, the organizations partnered to develop the largest solar parking canopy in Hawaii.
