SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 13, 2011 – Tioga Energy, a leading provider of renewable energy services to commercial, government and non-profit institutions, today announced the introduction of Nicole Leonard to its executive team as vice president and general counsel. With more than a decade of legal experience in project development, renewable energy and land use, Leonard will provide Tioga with strategic guidance during project financing and development.
Tioga Energy’s SurePath Solar power purchase agreement (PPA) enables organizations to support their environmental goals without the large upfront costs associated with the installation of solar energy systems. Under the terms of the PPA, Tioga is responsible for the design, construction and operation of its projects, selling the generated clean energy back to its customers at predictable rates.
“Our customers strive to incorporate a significant shift in energy usage without diverting attention from standard operations; a poorly facilitated transaction can quickly derail a project,” said Nicole Leonard, vice president and general counsel at Tioga Energy. “Tioga sets itself apart with an unparalleled commitment to providing a hassle-free process for all parties involved, and I look forward to joining in the effort.”
Leonard previously served as general counsel and vice president of business development at Oakland-based Solar Millennium, LLC. Prior to this, she was a partner at Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. Leonard earned her J.D. at the Duke University School of Law, where she also served as the co-chair of the Environmental Law Society.
“The addition of Nicole enables Tioga to better service our customers, further strengthening the value we provide in quickly and efficiently implementing distributed generation projects throughout North America,” said Paul Detering, CEO of Tioga Energy. “As we welcome another talented member to our core management team, 2011 is shaping up to be the most successful year in Tioga’s history.”
